But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Matthew 6:33 -
There are many influences out there that will say your happiness is all that matters. They encourage you to put your desires above all else. But I’d like to challenge you to think higher, and force yourself to live to a higher standard. The truth is your happiness is important, but it’s not all that matters. Your life is not yours alone; it’s a gift you were given to reach your destiny and purpose which is designed to impact others, whether for good or bad. Experience and maturity will allow you to understand this concept on a deeper level where you are able to have both.
We all should strive to leave our mark on this world. It’s not about being prominent, influential or famous. It’s about taking a closer look at what you were uniquely given which could be the answer someone else has been searching for. It could be creating a company that serves as a solution for others which establishes generational wealth for your children. When you are able to tap into your gift fulfilling that purpose will bring you happiness. However, if you venture out to live a life of happiness where all your decisions are centered on you, you will end up spending your life chasing temporary emotions and success that will only last a moment.
As 2018 comes to an end, take time to reflect how you spent the year. Were you chasing your happiness or chasing your destiny? And if you need to make a shift, don’t wait until December 31, 2018 at midnight; shift now so you won’t waste a day in 2019. I promise you there is happiness and prosperity on the other side.
